POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales Agent is responsible for managing and growing revenue by cultivating strong relationships with existing clients. This role involves providing customized transportation solutions, which include air, trucking, and interline services, and delivering accurate, timely sales information to various departments. Key responsibilities include preparing quotes, negotiating specialized pricing, and coordinating with operations to ensure efficient service delivery. The agent also supports company promotional efforts, manages territory coverage, and maintains customer relationship management (CRM) data. Additionally, they assist with credit and collection efforts and represent the company at industry events. The ideal candidate will be focused on ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and strategic planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
- Provides timely and accurate coordination of sales information including, but not limited to: sales promotions, sales leads, sales directives, policies and procedures, etc. to all sales personnel, agents and other departments, as required.
- Assist customers, domestic stations, international stations as well as internal staff in the facilitation of transportation solutions.
- Search for new sales opportunities
- Negociate agreements and close businesses
- Plan ahead and drive sales through calls
Customer service:
- Provide itinerary information of flights to clients
- Cargo follow up outside of MIA, M6 or interline
- Invoice sending to pre-paid customers
- Notify departure, arrival, delays and cancelation of flights SAP & XPL
- Assist with claims of MIA (Information scan)
- Elaboration of aerial guides and stock allocation on SmartCargo
- Note updating in case of any event that generates boarding/guide and CCA
- Update daily contracts of tariffs for UPSONE
- Pricing for: Hazmat, general, overside, overdim, PER, live animal
- Revenue report elaboration
- Itemized report for OPS
- Entry of guides on SAP & XPL reservoirs on SK from Monday to Sunday (24/7 schedule)
- Maintain and promote strict company safety standards and regulatory requirements to ensure a zero-incident work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and consistently achieve collective company goals.
- Deliver high-quality service by identifying and addressing the specific needs of internal and external clients with a focus on responsiveness.
- Uphold the highest standards of honesty and accountability in all professional interactions, fostering a culture of mutual respect.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and analyzed key data to implement sound, timely decisions and improve overall efficiency.
- Any others duties related to Commercial as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree for Sales or Logistics related AND a minimum of (1) year of relevant experience and/or training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret business publications, technical procedures, and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to effectively, source, interact and build relationships with customers, colleagues, and management in a professional manner.
- Advanced proficiency in the English language.
- Strong proactive attitude and a focus on customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to customer inquiries promptly and maintain accurate records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the airfreight, logistics, or transportation industry.
- Experience with PowerBI and SmartCargo software.
- Multi-lingual capabilities; preferably English and Spanish fluency.
- Prior experience in telemarketing, quoting, or customer service roles.
- Understanding of interline and ocean freight processes.
- Ability to create and deliver formal business presentations to key accounts.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
College degree for Sales or Logistics related AND a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and/or training. Strong internet and PC skills required including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in the airfreight industry a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Bilingual capabilities a must.
